Gentle September
September steps in gracefully
Gently letting go of precious summer
Gently streatching out to autumn
Gently the sun comes through with grace
Gently the sun leaves us with a promise
Gently "I will return to remind of the last days of summer"

I will rise again to say "enjoy!"
I am a part of creation
You are a part of creation
You are just as beautiful as I
Gentle September

Hero and Heroines
When I was a child,
I was impressed by ancient tales of heroism.
The hero and heroines who bring justice and comfort to the masses of suffering mankind.

Now, that I am grown and wiser,
I wish such hero and heroines were alive
to bring justice, comfort
to the masses of suffering mankind.

Justice and righteousness
In the real world of politics is about winning votes.
When election voting is over,
Justice and righteousness is soon forgotten.

Justice and righteous,
Existed in the ancient tales of heroism,
Does not exist in the real world of politics.
Fact and fiction do not co-exist.

My Hero
That tall and lanky man
The gentle and smiley one,
So kind and never moans
How I remember what you were

That tall and lanky man
The feel of your hand in mine,
The way you walk and talk
Stories you told about your life

That tall and lanky man
How I miss the gentle pressure of your hand
How the day flies by with the thought of you smile
My Hero, My father, the one with the gentle smile

Sugar Cane
O sugar cane how I love you.
I watch you grow from 2 inches
To 16 feet tall
So majestic your arrows fluffy and white
Blowing in the wind
Sugar cane also sad they cut you down
No more arrows blowing in the wind

You go to the factory they crush you
I drink your juice I eat your sugar
They bag you up take you to the docks
Put you on the ship
Off you go around the world
To make sweet cakes and tea
Sugar cane you are the best
I love you so

A Walk In My Garden
O, come and walk in my garden
Smell the fragrance
Come pause at my rock garden
Then visit God
To offer a prayer
Giving thanks for life everywhere
A walk in my garden refreshes the soul because God walks here

Pussy Cat
Pussy cat pussy cat
Where have you been
Ive been to London to visit the Queen

Pussy cat pussy cat what did you there
I frightened a pussy cat under the stair.

The tedious moments I with you have spent
Why do you flount my insufficiency

Is this praise worthy
Or is it mere fame

I love you just the same.

Head Shoulders
Head shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Head shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
And eyes and ears and nose and mouth
Heads shoulders knees and toes, knees and toes.

A Special World
A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong

And your beautiful mother

But your stock is strong resilient servivors
Littlie black girl you are of worth
Be loved be proud

Be Kind Be Gentle
Be Kind Be Gentle To Those Who Are Old
Be kind and be gentle to those who are old.
It’s better than silver more precious than gold.

Be kind and be gentle to those who are old,
A kind hand holding with trembling feet beneath.

Be kind and be gentle to those who are old,
A kind hand holding the old, with the trembling feet beneath.

Be kind and be gentle to those who are old
Your love for the old will give you treasures untold.

Be kind and be gentle to those who are old
You are building a mansion that will always endure.

Be kind and be gentle to those who are old
Your good deeds on earth will live forevermore.

My Brother Billy
My brother Billy whom I never will forget
Died when young age 24
Often question why
Unanswering question that word why…

A window cleaner that he was
Broke my heart when he fell 30 ft
From a hospital building to the floor
What a thud and terrible sight it must have
Been for people below..

He should have died right away
But not he, he lived on for 5 whole days
Comatised that he was
Gave us a chance to say our goodbyes
I love and miss you my dear bro

Mum has joined you, you must know.

I Love You
No one talks like you my love -your music to my ears,

Your words of correction trickle down from above-but of course spoken so sweetly in love…you say?

But as the film star has said your voice is what makes my day, for better or worse -even when you have flu,

Theres no more a sweet sound,
Than a simple,
I love you.

Love covers a multitude of sin, so the Bible say,
But we’re not going back there no more ‘cause we found a better way,
Moving on, moving up, and far, far away, it’s beginning to sound like a fairy tale now, but I don’t care -because I like it that way.

Winter Is Ending
Winter is ending March is coming,
spring will be sprong any day now,
spring is around the corner and its humming,
the flowers will flow, the birds will sing,
a easy soft song the medow will grow,
Bee will boozes and lady birds will fly,
Spring is are spring in every where,
The days are longer yes spring as sprong.

FRIGHT
The sun isn’t shining its muggy and the soil’s dry
The plants are drinking their daily ration I mowed the lawn
The cuttings all bagged
Tired and thirsty I rest for a while.

Windows open doors ajar children playing in the yard
Cars driving music blaring I wonder if they are hard of hearing
What I wouldn’t do for a long cool drink
But what do fancy if only I could think
Clearly the heat is taking all my thought
Over I wish I could have a cold bath

Oh I’ll rest for a while and go indoors

Michael Manley
Late Jamaican Priminister
A great Political Leader
Tall handsome figure
Vocal – charismatic man

Michael,how I admire your patriotism
The love of your people from your youth
Your dedication to the plight of the poor
Champion of equality for all
One who followed in his father’s foot steps
One who truly loves
Greatly loved, admired and inspirational Leader.
How we miss you.!

My Hero
Her steps are confident her head held high
She moves about with grace and poise
Yet on her face there is a smile
Not plastic – from ear to ear
But one that says ‘you are welcome here’.

‘Come in’ she said as I knocked on the door
With outstretched arm she greeted
‘Take a seat and be comfortable, I’ve heard of your plight
Please know I’m here for you with all my might.’

Her eyes showed keen interest as I unfolded my tale
Minute by minute this interest stood firm
‘How did you cope and who stood by you?
Her soft voice asked

Our meeting continued with no interruptions
Then up stood her tall frame
And as gently as before
Her hand was extended as I made for the door
If only she knew the relief I felt
MY HERO
