198 Contemporary Arts and Learning seeks to engage with the histories and issues that resonate with local audiences in Brixton and explore the contribution of its diverse communities to the cultural development of modern Britain and its international connections. Our programme will investigate cultural links and relationships, historical and contemporary, through exhibitions and artist-led projects in a variety of media
We aim to present a programme which will engage audiences locally, nationally and internationally and which will help inspire new audiences to the visual arts. We wish to promote emerging artists whose work supports the overarching curatorial ethos of 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning.
How we work with artists
198 Contemporary Arts and Learning seeks to promote the work of emerging artists using a range of media and dealing with a diversity of contemporary issues and working practices within a culturally diverse framework.
198 Contemporary Arts and Learning integrates the exhibition programme and Urban Vision Education

All exhibitions and events will be documented and added to the 198 Contemporary Arts and Learningarchive.
