Black and Now: RESIST, is a zine produced by 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning and AFROPUNK: London. The goal of this zine is to gather emerging black artists and AFROPUNK community to respond to Black British resistance – past, present, and future.
Zine Making Open Workshops: Saturday August 4th, 1-4pm Wednesday August 8th, 6:30-9:30pm
Please Join us! Workshops will provide open opportunity for individuals to come to 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning and go through 30 years of archive material, review, produce, and submit contributions for the AFROPUNK fanzine. We will provide various art materials, scanner, photocopier, and computers with Adobe Creative Suite available for use.
Submission Content (must fit/scale to one A5 page) Artworks (high res digital scan/photo of any photo acceptable) Poetry
Opinion Pieces (500 word max) Photography
Interviews (500 word max) Comics
*written work can be typed or hand-written Open Submission Guidelines:
All submissions must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject ‘FINAL FANZINE SUBMISSION’ by Sunday August 19th. Submissions can come in the form of .pdf or high res image – if they do not come in this format they will not be considered.
