Brixton Community Cinema Screening: Wavelengths + First Kill

 

Join us on April 11th 7PM, for a screening of works by two pioneering queer Asian video artists of the early 90s programmed by Brixton Community Cinema as part of their season Sarita 4eva.

The programme comprises of two films about queer women harnessing cyberspace at the early onset of the internet: in Wavelengths (1997 dir. Pratibha Parmar) to alleviate heartbreak and alienation, in Fresh Kill (1994 dir. Shu Lea Cheang) Sarita Choudhury plays Shareen, who with her partner Claire, deploys hacktivism to expose a polluting multinational corporation and rescue their kidnapped daughter, Honey.
