Fast Forward Into… Creative Production and Events

Are you a budding creative producer or programmer looking to kick start your career in the industry? Have you always wondered what it takes, or wanted to get your idea for an event off the ground? Join us for our next series of workshops, running on Thursdays and Fridays between 11:30am-3:30pm from 9-24 February.

The core course will be 3 weeks long and will consist of a series of workshops delivered by an industry professional, with accompanying creative employability skills sessions looking at things like CVs, portfolio, cover letters, project proposals and networking.

During the programme you will be introduced to key elements of the sector and will work on a project, producing work to develop your skills and portfolio. With the guidance of a working cultural programmer, you will be given tips and support as you get to grips with the process of conceptualizing and realising an event. This might be a music event, a film screening, a performance – whatever your area of interest is. The idea is that this will give you experience of coming up with an idea, managing logistics and creating marketing materials, so you can go on to run your event, thus building your experience, getting your name out there and giving yourself something to add to the CV.

We offer one-to-one support outside of the course too, and you are able to use our workspace (with Macs, Adobe, drawing tablets and art supplies) beyond the workshops. We’re here for you as you make applications and land that job, funding, contract or place to study. Whether you’d like to update your CV, programme an event, write a cover letter or a project proposal – we got you!
